Line graph. On the y-axis, the average number of citations per ASD publication from the years 2000 to 2010 is plotted from zero to fourteen.  The x-axis displays the number of institutions associated with each publication from one to ten.   There is an increase in the average number of citations as the number of institutions involved in the research increases, with 2.5 citations on average when only one institution is listed on a paper compared to an average citation rate of more than twelve when ten institutions are listed on the same paper.
