Analysis of the small intestinal microbiome of children with autism

This project aims to analyze the entire microbial population of the mucosa in the upper gastrointestinal tract of children with autism to determine if there is an overgrowth of specific populations of bacteria. This study could increase our understanding of the role of the upper gut microbiota on the etiology of autism and potentially provide therapeutic strategies for autism. Project Status
