Early ASD surveillance - 2  

Three Early Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Surveillance grantees in fiscal year 2006 developed a protocol for pilot surveillance projects focused on ASD prevalence in young children (under the age of 4). During fiscal year 2007, a request for applications (RFA) was developed for the implementation of early ASD surveillance. Two sites were funded for implementation of their 4 year projects to determine the prevalence of ASDs in a young cohort of children. Project Status

Strategic Plan Objective New! Yellow dot: Objective has some degree of funding, but less than the recommended amount. 7L. Expand the number of ADDM sites in order to conduct ASD surveillance in younger and older age groups; conduct complementary direct screening to inform completeness of ongoing surveillance; and expand efforts to include autism subtypes by 2015. IACC Recommended Budget: $16,200,000 over 5 years.
