Role of autism-susceptibility gene, CNTNAP2, in neural circuitry for vocal communication  

This proposal uses the zebra finch as an animal model to study the neural basis of vocal learning, including molecular, cellular, and synaptic mechanisms. Specifically, the study will examine the role of a newly identified gene, CNTNAP2, on the socially-learned vocal communication ability of the zebra finch. Project Status
