Project S.A.G.E. Successfully Accessing General Education

This project will prepare teachers to provide children with intellectual disabilities (InD), and children on the autism spectrum, with access to the general education curriculum. The project aims to educate teachers in evidence-based practices to provide special education students with the least restrictive environment possible. The project will implement a new Master of Arts in Special Education with a concentration in InD and autism spectrum disorders (ASD) at the University of South Florida with coursework leading to Florida endorsements in severe or profound disabilities and ASD. The program will offer 100% online courses delivered in conjunction with bi-monthly real-time seminars, offered through online technology. The seminars will offer a multidisciplinary support for the preparation of candidates to take subject area exams to achieve highly qualified status in appropriate content areas. Project Status
