Masters training program for personnel preparing for careers with children with autism spectrum disorders  

The purpose of this project is to prepare masters level personnel in fields related to the education of children and youth with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) through an innovative preservice graduate program. Students will gain generic special education skills and knowledge along with specialized training related to students with ASD in least restrictive settings. Trainees will undertake approximately 45-50 hours of coursework, field-based practica, and mentorships providing them with understanding of special education foundations; prepare and present learning experiences; and analyze, prepare, and manage educational models.
