Face processing and brain function associated with autistic symptoms in fragile X

This study aims to investigate the commonalities and differences in underlying central circuitry of social and emotional processes in fragile X syndrome (FXS) and idiopathic autism and to relate these to behavioral measures such as gaze fixation and the domain and severity of autism characteristics expressed at an individual level using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measures during a facial-fear processing task.
