Description

ASF contributed $25,000 towards the development of a new outreach campaign designed to increase the number of donations to the Autism BrainNet. This including the convening of focus groups to improve messaging on post-mortem tissue donation. The outreach campaign is known as "it takes brains" and since the start in 2013, has received further investment through Autism Speaks and the Simons Foundation for Autism Research. The activities in 2013 included focus groups to obtain feedback on postmortem brain tissue donation, generation of text for outreach materials, and the design of a website.
