Description

The goal of the study is to produce human cellular models of ASD. The PI will develop iPSCs from ASD patients and controls using cellular reprogramming, which are used to produce patient-derived neural progenitors (NPCs) and neurons. The cellular phenotypes, synaptogenesis will be studied in these NPCs and neurons. The specific aims are: 1) Functional characterization of NPC and neuron from ASD and controls for potential defects in proliferation, neurodevelopment and synaptogenesis; 2) Functional characterization of dysregulated pathways uncovered by gene expression from iPSC-derived NPC and neurons.
