Description

Therapeutic Respite In Parks (T.R.I.P.) is a program that takes individuals with specific health care needs on weekend respite journeys to Arkansas state and national parks. This program is currently being expanded to include individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Individualized recreational assessments will be conducted prior to the program and goals and objectives will be established for each camper. Quantitative data will be collected to evaluate the program's effectiveness. The T.R.I.P. program is a model that can be replicated all around the country.
