Description Description	Dyadic orienting is the ability to direct and sustain attention to cues involving eye contact (EC) and child-directed speech (CDS). It signals an intention to engage in reciprocal social interactions. Deficits in dyadic orienting during the formative years of infancy and early childhood are likely to have marked developmental consequences. The objectives of this study are to elucidate the factors that affect spontaneous dyadic orienting at the earliest stages at which ASD can be reliably diagnosed to foster the identification of more homogeneous and clinically relevant subgroups as well as more accurate predictors of outcome within the autism spectrum.
