Selecting which preference assessment to use may depend on a variety of contextual variables. The current study examines whether some preference assessment types are best suited for the intended function of predicting sustained leisure activity engagement. Four types of preference assessments, including a paired stimlulus, multiple stimulus without replacement, free operant, and brief response restriction preference assessment, will be conducted three times each with each participant. We will also conduct a progressive ratio assessment and an extended free operant assessment with each participant. We expect for 12-15 participants to take part in this study. Analyses will include comparisons of within-in assessment type consistency, across assessment type consistency, predictability of assessment type for responding in progressive ratio assessment as well as the extended assessment. We are interested in determining if some assessment types might be more useful in determining which leisure items an individual is likely to engage with appropriately for sustained periods.
