Effects of response effort on resistance to extinction |

DescriptionDescription |
The effect of a variety of factors on resurgence of a response have been examined and are known, including rate and magnitude of reinforcement. These factors surround the maintaining reinforcer of the response, and little is known about the effect of response parameters on resurgence. In this study, we used a force cell transducer to measure the strength of a touch to a knob. Participants gained access to videos by emitting a response within the required force range. We systematically altered the amount of force required to gain access to the videos. We then placed the touching responses on extinction in order to examine the effects of response effort on resistance to extinction. |
