Description

Description

Dr Daniel Goldowitz's research in neurodevelopment spans bench-to-bedside. His bench research focuses on the molecules engaged in development of the human brain, particularly the cerebellum, a region involved in important functions in motor control, social behaviour, and learning. Dr Goldowitz uses mouse cerebellum as a model system to explore interventions to improve brain development in infants with high risk for neurological disorders due to prematurity or vascular accidents, and to improve our knowledge of the neurobiology of autism spectrum disorders. He leads a network to apply this knowledge to improving management at the newborn's bedside and the child's community.
