DescriptionDescription |
This preservice project will prepare 40 early interventionists and early childhood special educators who will also receive specialized training in intervention strategies for young children with autism.�METHOD: Activities of this project include: (a) refining the current offerings related to autism in three areas, including technology-based interventions, strategies for implementing intervention with fidelity (including the instruction of others), and early social-communication interventions for toddlers identified with autism or at-risk for autism, including parent-to-parent implemented interventions; (b) providing students with a M.Ed. degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Early Intervention and a Specialization in Autism; and (c) spending 65 percent of the funding for this program on student support. |
