The two different but clearly interlinked sub-projects within this project are: (1) Effective vocational decision making tool development, and (2) Integrated employment success tool development. Researchers are looking to achieve the following project objectives: (a) To identify individual strengths and vocational abilities to assist autistic adolescents and adults in vocational decision making, culminating in and educational vocational assessment protocol; (b) To identify key factors required for successful supported and open employment in order to develop an Integrated Employment Success Tool (IEST) that facilitates successful employment outcomes in existing, and yet to be established, jobs. The research will deliver: (a) An evidence-based autism specific educational vocational assessment protocol to assist informed decision-making regarding post-secondary education and employment based on an ability profile; (b) An integrated employment success tool that identifies autism specific factors required for successful employment; (c) The matching of the person's skills, abilities, and interests with job requirements and determine the workplace support and adaptations required.
