IACC Legislation
The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) was originally established under the Children's Health Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-310). The Committee was reauthorized and chartered as a federal advisory committee under the Combating Autism Act of 2006 (Public Law 109-416) and was reauthorized again in 2011 under the Combating Autism Reauthorization Act of 2011 (Public Law 112-32), the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education and Support (CARES) Act of 2014 (Public Law 113-157), and the Autism CARES Act of 2019 (Public Law 116-60). The most recent authorization of the Committee is included in the Autism CARES Act of 2024 (Public Law 118-180). This authorization will remain effective until September 30, 2029 or until superseded by a subsequent reauthorization.
