IACC Legislation

The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) was originally established under the Children's Health Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-310, PDF – 546 KB).  The committee was reauthorized and chartered as a federal advisory committee under the Combating Autism Act of 2006 (Public Law 109-416PDF – 49 KB) and was reauthorized again in 2011 under the Combating Autism Reauthorization Act of 2011 (Public Law 112-32PDF – 119 KB) and the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education and Support (CARES) Act of 2014 (Public Law 113-157PDF – 211 KB).  The most recent authorization of the committee is included in the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education and Support (CARES) Act of 2019 (Public Law 116-60). This authorization will remain effective until September 30, 2024 or until superseded by a subsequent reauthorization.
