MRI measures of neural connectivity in Asperger's disorder

This project will investigate the social deficits in Asperger's Disorder using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to examine measures of brain connectivity. The study will focus on areas of the brain involving social cognition and will include measuring subjects with and without Asperger's while they are at rest, collecting images to determine whether the axons that compose the brain's white matter and carry nerve impulses are intact, and examining the effects of development on neural connectivity in different age groups and other cohorts. The results will increase knowledge about the biological consequences of this condition and possibly help to develop new diagnostic or therapeutic techniques. Project Status
