Autism training and education

This project will expand the availability of high-quality autism services in South Texas by increasing the capacity of providers through an ongoing program of education and training. Over the course of five days, service providers will learn about a range of subjects, including Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Management, Verbal Behavior, Intensive Teaching Sessions, Joint Attention Training, Family Systems and Support, Data Collection and Graphing, and more. The training will include one-day workshops, five days of hands-on training under supervision in a clinical setting, and fieldwork supervision for practicing professionals. By providing advanced, up-to-date autism information and ongoing supervision, this project will empower individuals to share the methods learned during the trainings with colleagues in their own communities.
