Project IMPRESS - Interactive Master's: Preparing, Responding, Enhancing School-based Speech-Language Pathologists

The project will train 60 students in a Speech-Language Pathology Master's program. The goal of the project is to train the students to be highly competent in all aspects of IDEA and effective in grant evaluation and management. The overall aim is to ensure that all students who complete the 45-credit program will obtain a Pennsylvania Teacher Certificate. The program will: (a) combine distance learning and hands on training to educate students in the field of speech-language pathology; (b) focus in part on children with autism spectrum disorders; (c) have graduate students engage in activities with students from a pre-kindergarten age through grade 12; (d) dedicate the project budget at 69%, 71%, 70%, and 73% to student support for years one through four, respectively; and (e) use formative and summative evaluation methods to ensure efficiency and efficacy.
