Development behavioral & neurophysiological measures for early autism diagnosis

This project compares behavioral and neural processes critical for social communication in autistic compared to typically developing children using eye tracking and event related potential (ERP) techniques. Researchers have compared this performance to that of monkeys who have received selective brain lesions both as young individuals and as adults. The goal is to further understand the neural mechanisms involved in social communication and how these may become impaired in developmental disorders.
