Requests for Public Comment
The IACC offers several venues for members of the public to observe and/or comment on proceedings and activities of the IACC, including public comment periods at meetings, events such as town hall meetings, and opportunities to send written comments to the IACC via the IACC Public Inquiries inbox (IACCPublicInquiries@mail.nih.gov).
When seeking public comment on specific issues, the IACC issues a formal "Request for Information" or "RFI" through the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. To date, the IACC has issued several RFIs related to the IACC Strategic Plan for ASD Research and priorities for the IACC Services Subcommittee. The most recent IACC RFI is described below:
010 Request for Information (RFI): Updating the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) Strategic Plan for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Research
Release Date: June 18, 2010
Closing Date: July 30, 2010
The IACC Request for Information (RFI) to solicit public input to inform the 2011 update of the IACC Strategic Plan for Autism Spectrum Disorder Research is now closed. During the six-week public comment period (June 18 – July 30, 2010), members of the public were asked to provide input to the committee on what has been learned in the past year about the issues covered in each of the seven chapters of the IACC Strategic Plan, and on what are the remaining gaps in the subject area covered by each chapter. In addition, the committee sought input on the introductory chapter and other general comments about the Strategic Plan. Full text of the comments collected through this RFI are available via the link below.
Please send questions about IACC requests for public comment to IACCPublicInquiries@mail.nih.gov.
