2021 Report to Congress on the Health and Well-Being of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released the 2021 Report to Congress on the Health and Well-Being of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As required by the Autism CARES ACT of 2019, this report describes efforts supported by U.S. federal departments and agencies in fiscal years (FY) 2018 to 2021 to address research, health, education, and social services that will improve health and well-being among children, adolescents, and adults on the autism spectrum. The Report also contains 23 recommendations which identify actions and/or activities that could help to close gaps in research, services, and policy. This Report was prepared by the Office of Autism Research Coordination at the National Institutes of Health, with contributions from multiple federal departments and agencies, on behalf of the Office of the HHS Secretary.
